More Xavier Rudd

I can't get enough of this guy. I am waiting not so patiently for him to return to Minnesota. His show last spring was one of the greatest shows I have ever seen.

Warning: The next song says the word "sh**" in the chorus.

Alabama Shakes

I love this group's simplicity. Soulful.

Genesis

So, this isn't a real video, but I had to post it, because this is one of my favorite songs. Enjoy.

Classic James Taylor

This is one of my favorite James Taylor songs of all time. Enjoy.

Harvest Moon

Amber and I are celebrating a self-declared Neil Young day today because it is the Harvest Moon. Get out and enjoy the beautiful show. The moon has been amazing lately.

Blind Melon

I don't listen to these guys often, but when I do, I'm always happy I did.

My Morning Jacket

Beginning at around the 3:00 mark, the jam in the next song is fantastic. If you don't like the beginning, at least check out the last half.

Hard To Handle

This is why I love the Dead!

John Butler

I'm not a huge fan of this guy in general, but he can sure play the guitar. Enjoy.

Joni Mithcell

One of my favorite female vocalists of all time.

I Don't Know Why I Love This Song

Weird airy, high pitched voice, but I can listen to this song over and over again.

Great Lake Swimmers - Your Rocky Spine from LaundroMatinee on Vimeo.

Trampled by Turtles

A great song by local boys from Duluth.

Donovan

He has far more to offer than "Mellow Yellow".

As Good as it Gets

This video doesn't have the best sound, but it is the best video I can find of one of my favorite songs of all time. Classic early Dead.

Good for a Laugh

It might just be that I didn't get any sleep last night because of work, but I was crying watching this video. This is the Swiss Finance Minister speaking in parliament about regulations on the import of cured meats when he began convulsing with laughter at the unintelligible bureaucratic language in his report. I love this guy!

The Airplane!

One of my favorite bands of all time!

Neil Young

Amber and I went to see Neil last month at a theater in Minneapolis. He was incredible. A once in a lifetime experience. Here are some classics.

More Mumford & Sons

Mumford & Sons

These guys always make me happy. Beautiful music full of emotion. Enjoy!

WARNING: The next song contains the "f"word in the chorus. If that bothers you, you can still listen, just turn the volume down at a particular part in the chorus after the band sings "But it was not your fault but mine, And it was your heart on the line, I really f***ed it up this time . . ." It's worth it.

Ben Sollee

I absolutely love this guy! These aren't my favorite versions of these songs, but they are great introductions for anyone who has never heard him before. Enjoy!

Silvio Rodriguez

I absolutely love this guy, but I've never met another person in the United States who has even heard of him, and the majority of persons to whom I introduce his music don't like him--so if you don't enjoy the videos, you are not alone. He is a Cuban folk singer with a severe leftist leaning (Several of his most famous songs glorify Ernesto "Che" Guevara, including the first video posted here.) Amazing voice! Enjoy!

I'm not a huge fan of these guys in general, but I think this song is great.

Takka Takka : Beware Beware from LaundroMatinee on Vimeo.

Jorma Kaukonen (He of Jefferson Airplane Fame)

This song can cheer you up on the most miserable of days.

Why I Hate Cristiano Ronaldo

Most of you won't care about this (as if anyone even reads this blog), but for some reason, my hatred for Cristiano Ronaldo is boiling over this week, and I had to post this video to show why. The video does a great job of justifying my hatred in about 20 seconds. There are many other reasons why I dislike the man (if you can call him that)--like the fact that he kicked in the window of a teenage girl's car when she tried to take a picture of him--but this is the root of my hatred.

Sorry all, I just had to vent. That's enough talk of hate for a Friday.

Rory Gallagher

One of my favorite musicians of all time. This version of the song is not as good as the version on the Irish Tour album, but it is still great. If you want to hear some amazing guitar, look him up on Youtube. Enjoy!

Deer Tick

One guy on a guitar, four guys reclining in couches with their legs crossed. Something about this band just makes me smile.

The Avett Brothers

The first song, Laundry Room, is fantastic. I'm not a fan of the second, but if you skip to 12:20, the final song, Bella Donna, is beautiful.
